Property prices climbed 7.6% in the year to September, according to new data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
Values rose by 5.3% in Dublin and by 9.4% elsewhere in the country.

The median home price now stands at €380,000. The national increase is slightly above the 7.5% rise recorded in the year to August.

According to the CSO, “The highest median price paid for a dwelling was €675,000 in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, while the lowest was €190,000 in Donegal.”

Overall, property values are now 23% higher than their previous peak during the 2007 boom. Dublin prices are 8.2% above their 2007 high, while prices outside the capital are 25.6% higher.

Since the market bottomed out in early 2013 after the financial crisis, national property prices have surged by 174.2%.
